Around 3,000 students participated in the 2024 Marist Brazil Olympics between September and October. The competitions were held across three cities: Novo Hamburgo (RS), Brasília (DF), and Jaraguá do Sul (SC). The sports included basketball, futsal, handball, and volleyball, with both male and female categories. The regional stage for Porto Alegre took place in September, in Novo Hamburgo. Brasília hosted the São Paulo regionals from October 12 to 15, coinciding with the games in Jaraguá do Sul, for the Curitiba regionals.
Liliane Falcomer, a Specialist in Complementary Activities at Marist Brazil and the event’s General Coordinator, celebrated the success of the second edition of the Marist Brazil Olympics: “The Olympics provided unforgettable moments for the students, which is very gratifying for us. The regional stages were a success, promoting integration and the exchange of experiences among students from different parts of the country”.
In 2024, the Marist Brazil Olympics reached its 2nd edition, strengthening friendship, solidarity, and social engagement among students and staff through sports. The event serves as an opportunity to integrate Marist Basic Education units in Brazil. The network of schools, present in 20 Brazilian states and the Federal District, serves over 97,000 children, teenagers, and adults across Marist Schools and Marist Social Schools.
