The cities of Zona da Mata in the state of Minas Gerais have been hit by heavy rains in recent weeks. Floods and landslides have already caused more than 50 deaths and left thousands of people homeless, mainly in the cities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá, the most affected so far. Many people have lost their homes and belongings and are facing a lack of basic necessities.
In light of this reality, Marista Brasil expresses its solidarity with all affected communities and is organizing a campaign to support the victims in the region. Currently, the main way to support is through donations via Pix, which allows for the quick transfer of resources to support actions for affected families. The Pix key for the São Januário Parish is the email [email protected].
Some Marista schools are receiving donations of drinking water and personal hygiene items. Through the social media of each school and social institution, it is possible to find out how to help and transform solidarity into action.
